Out-Of-Town Patient Information

As our practice and reputation has grown over the years, Dr. Cambre's practice now includes patients from all of Southern California as well as most of the 50 states and several foreign countries. Most of our previous patients, who have relocated elsewhere in Southern California or to other states, continue to visit us during their travels to Los Angeles, both for follow-up as well as for other additional plastic surgery procedures.

If you do not reside in Southern California, Dr. Cambre will be happy to correspond with you regarding your procedure of interest. You may contact our office by e-mail or telephone, and forward to us a description of the problem for which you desire surgery, along with photographs of the area in question. Dr. Cambre will evaluate your photographs, and will respond to you by your preferred method (telephone or e-mail) to discuss your suitability for surgery.

Although the final decision regarding your suitability for surgery may not be made until your face-to-face visit with Dr. Cambre, our office will assist you in coordinating local accommodations and travel arrangements during your visit. Most of your pre-operative evaluations and laboratory testing can be done in your home town, and we ask that you make the necessary arrangements with your primary physician to forward your history and physical examination, and all laboratory and radiographic reports, to our office at least two weeks before the anticipated date of your scheduled surgery. Dr. Cambre will then examine and confirm your test results, to insure that no further intervention or evaluation is needed prior to your scheduled surgery date.

Many of the aftercare facilities with which we work will also be happy to accommodate you upon your arrival to Los Angeles, or you may wish to make your own initial hotel reservations. In either case, please allow our staff to assist you with your local arrangements.

Our office will assist you in determining the post-operative arrangement that is most suitable for you. Often, we have found that our patients, even those who live nearby, wish to "hide away" from their family, friends, and neighbors during the initial phase of their convalescence. They return home rested and able to fully care for themselves, removing an element of stress, both for themselves and their immediate families.

Dedicated aftercare facilities, staffed by specially-trained Plastic Surgery nurses, are located at a number of nearby hotels. They typically offer transportation to and from the surgical facility, and back to our office for your follow-up visits on the day after surgery, along with special gourmet meals and pampering. In most cases, your spouse or loved-one can stay with you as well, if you desire. Dr. Cambre remains in close contact with the staff of these facilities throughout your post-operative stay, and will make "house calls" if necessary for your comfort and convenience during your convalescence. Alternatively, we can arrange for a private duty nurse to care for you in the comfort of your own home.

There is an additional cost for private duty nursing and/or for your stay in these aftercare facilities, and our office will provide you with brochures outlining the cost of these accommodations and the various amenities they offer. Please let us know your preferences regarding any of these options and facilities, and we will make every effort to coordinate your aftercare to aid your comfort and safety after your surgery.
