Each patient has unique needs and concerns. Many patients come in for an initial consultation with a certain specific procedure in mind, but after describing to us their desired outcome or goal for the surgery, it is apparent that a different or additional procedure(s) will better meet their needs. Other factors must also be taken into consideration, such as medical history, type and combination of procedures needed or desired, anesthesia preferences, and facility options, in order to accurately determine the total cost of the procedure.
Because of this, Dr. Cambre believes it is misleading to quote a surgical fee over the telephone. Your surgical fee can only be quoted accurately after your comprehensive consultation with Dr. Cambre, at which time your detailed treatment plan will be established. We are happy to compare our written fee quotation with any written fee quotation you have received elsewhere. In many cases, we have found that patients who have received a lower fee quotation from another office have not been offered comparable services. We believe that our fees are both fair and reasonable when one considers the surgery as a long-lasting "investment" you are making in yourself. Having treated many patients for complications of "bargain" plastic surgery, we believe it is unwise for patients to dicker needlessly in an effort to find the "cheapest" surgeon, since the savings in the cost of the surgery are usually reflected in the lesser quality of care a patient receives on all levels (from initial consultation, to surgery itself, and to long-term follow-up) in such situations. In many cases, such "bargain" surgery may end up being more expensive for a patient in the long run, when the often-needed corrections are factored in, than a somewhat higher initial fee that more accurately reflects the quality of service to be expected.
Your initial visit with Dr. Cambre and our patient coordinator involves no obligation. During your meeting with the patient coordinator, you will receive a price quote outlining the professional fee, operating room fee, and anesthesia charges applicable to your surgery. If you have a specific date in mind for your surgery, our patient coordinator will do her best to find an opening on our surgery schedule that accommodates your personal schedule.
Although price is undoubtedly a consideration for most patients, we believe that it is certainly not the most important factor in your decision as to who will perform your surgery and to whom you will entrust your care. We believe that any fee differential between our office and another will be more than offset by the level of service we provide. Our many satisfied patients have validated our belief that intelligent patients are sophisticated enough to recognize this distinction, and to place a greater emphasis on safety, service, and quality than on price alone.
In the case of cosmetic surgery, we require your fees to be paid in full two weeks in advance of your surgical date.
If reimbursement is anticipated from your insurance company for all or a portion of your surgical procedure, we will promptly file the appropriate paperwork to assist in recovering all entitled reimbursements. Because Dr. Cambre is not a participating provider, we require full payment of our professional fees prior to the procedure. Please bring your insurance forms with you and have your portion filled out and signed to expedite the filing of your claim.
Payment for our services: We require payment in full at the time that services are rendered. Our surgical consultant or insurance coordinator will be happy to discuss payment arrangements that will suit your needs. We accept cash, Cashier's or personal checks, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We can also assist you in obtaining information regarding financing options for your surgery.
